Doctor Who returns to BBC1 for 50th Anniversary special

The return of "Doctor Who" set to clash with the "X Factor" on anniversary night.



Doctor Who returns to our screens today for the 50th anniversary special episode 'The Day of the Doctor'. The episode will see previous Doctor's played by David Tenant and John Hurt return as well as other characters such as Rose Tyler played by Billie Piper.

It is also current Doctor Matt Smith's penultimate outing, before he regenerates during the Christmas special into a new Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi.

Clashing with this big anniversary broadcast will be the X Factor on BBC1's rival channel ITV1. The music talent show will be celebrating it's 10th anniversary on air over the weekend and will feature performances including the show's very own ex-contestants One Direction and Olly Murs, global superstar  Mary J. Blige and the UK's very own Jessie J.

Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor, airs on BBC1 at 7.50pm this evening (23rd November). Don't worry if you don't live in the UK, the special will be broadcast as part of a worldwide simulcast in over 75 countries.
